Sweet Home Carolina

Contributed by L Jett

This is a picture of the creek in the back of my neighborhood in South Carolina. It is my favorite place in the world. I like the reflections on the water of the docks. I wish that the blue of the sky stood out more.

Nice shot Laura, I can see why it is your favorite place...calm, relaxing and beautiful. If I had to make a recommendation on it I would say that it could possibly be improved if you had put the horizon either lower or higher, although I do like the water as it goes to black in the lower portion. Nice first contribution. We are glad you joined our class.

I cant believe this was taken in your back yard!!! its soo pretty. But to bring out this pics true potential you could do a saturation adjustment and a perhaps a level adjustment. But visually its a great composition

I really like this one. I like how the sun is setting far off behind the trees and I like how it makes the clouds near it stand out. you can tell it has a good bit of depth in this photograph. It's a very lovely picture.

moving sucks.
that aside, I like this picture. we used to have a little creek behind our house but its much less impressive than this one and smelled a little bit. anyway, more blue would be nice but I think that the awesome reflection in the water makes up for that. also, the ripples in the water are pretty calming and look like the sort of place one would go to relax and just skip rocks. the only thing I'm unsure about is the docks in the middle of the piece. I really like the tree line blacked out like it is but I would like to see more detail in the docks back there.

Thats such a pretty picture! The background is a little dark but the yellow and blue in the sky is amazing! I like the perspective from the edge of the creek. South Carolina looks gorgeous!
