I took this shot at about 12 at night in my neighborhood. I put the shutter speed on for about 15 seconds. I would set up the shot and make my friends move where I wanted them to at the specific time. I would stand completely still. There has been no editing on this photo beyond slight levels adjustment. I wish that I would have taken another shot and overlayed it over the original so I could negate the heavy lighting due to the street light.

WOW! what a great picture. It seriously just captured me in. I love the shutter speed effect and all the different levels of the boys :]
This is really creative josh, i like it a good bit.
I disagree with you Josh. I think the lighting in the foreground from the street light works in the shot. It actually adds kind of a cool element to the shot, with almost daytime lighting in the foreground and then midnight in the back. And of course, very cool with the long exposure and the motion
id like it to show motion or small trails behind the people like there moving...they look to much like there not real.
I still think this is an awesome picture. I like how the shadows are noticeably lighter on the two guys that moved. I dont like the blowout of the light in the distance though.
this picture rocks! i dont think i could stay still long enough to take it. the street light is a little distracting to me but i like the way the curve of the street draws your eye back in the photo.
this is a neat picture.....if it showed the people moving somewhat it would be even cooler.

Hey nice picture this is very cool
This is a really great shutter speed picture ,I think it could be better, if you had a slower shutter speed and the images kind of leave trails behind them. Overall it’s an awesome picture.
engh... I'm kinda iffy on this one. I like these kinds of pictures but for some reason this one just doesnt "hit the spot" for me. I am impressed however. its a well orchestrated shot. personally, I think it would be better if you made all your freinds as transparent as the guy on the right. that way its like their ghosts, figments of your imagination, or whatever and that the viewer was gettting a glimps into your thoughts or something. also, I think it would look better if you had taken 2 shots of the street so you could overlay portions so as to get rid of the "ghost's" shadows. my personal preferences aside though, I agree with ljet on his/her comment on the street. it creates nice depth. as for the light, I dont really care either way. its a little distracting but it still looks cool.

i love the transparent look.Awesome photo!
this photo is kind of tripy I like how you turned your friends are translucent but the light in the back ground troughs your picture off a little bit I think
I really like this picture. It’s a really good example of shutter speed.
