Sweet Home Alabama

Contributed by Blake Murphy

I like this shot, it's another one of my good black and whites, the main photography techniques i emphasized in this shot was depth of field and the rule of thirds. Hope you like it.

i really like the subject matter of this photo. It gives an almost dream like quality and the black and whit really helps focus on the actual picture. However the background might be too out of focus but i would buy this pic. way to go B Murph

i think you have a new obsession of borders, but it works for you. yet again great black and white picture. i like this one better than the railroad one because of the greater detail. there's a nice contrast between nature and man with the leaves and the barbed wire. the bottom left hand corner has some distracting grass weed like plant that i think would be better cloned out. also nice depth of field with the really cool tree blurred out. i wanna see the same picture in black and white with everything in focus...i think that would be an equally good shot. o yea, i just noticed the nice representation of age that as time continues the man made objects rot/ rust and the nature things grow like the large tree and the tall weed in the center.

Wow! I think it looks like a professional picture. I really like how you got the subject focus and the background not. The angle that you caught is perfect. It gives your picture the right depth of field. Good job!

I’m in love with this photo, but not in a creepy way. I could see this in National Geographic or something. I really like the rule of thirds shown in all parts of the photo. Nice depth of field, too. What I really enjoy is that the background is interesting and compelling even though it is not the focus. It really adds to the shot. Excellent job.

I think that you did a really good job with the depths of field in this photo. The black and white really makes it original and I love how the main subject is in focus. The tree in the background also really ties the picture together and makes it a whole.

This picture blows me away everytime I look at it. You did a great job. The visual impact is incredible and everything in the photograph is leading to the rest of the picture. Overall, I really like this picture. THe DOF is great and your angle choice is perfect for the picture. Good Job! :]]

this really does look like a professional shot you'd see at a good art gallery. These borders seem to work for your images. This picture reminds me of Africa for some reason. Probably the tree in the background.
