King Kong's Paradise

Contributed by J Brinkerhoff

This is a picture that I took while I was on a trip up the northeast of the empire state building. I intentionally set the building on its side. I like it better that way. Just let me know what you think.

This picture is alright but not one of your bests. Keep in mind the rule of thirds. The sky is very distracting and perhaps desaturating the sky would be beneficial or a different crop. The split down the middle forces the eye to choose a side to look at and there are no leading lines. The picture is very unbalanced.

This is an amazing shot. It’s so different and rare. I really like the fact that u put the building on its side that’s what make the photo so original. I absolutely love the angle of this photo. The colors too, its genuinely flawless.

This picture is really cool. I like the perspective. The sky is really bright the clouds are very white a fluffy. very good contrast. Good job!

I can't really decide if i like this picture or not. But i do like the idea you were going for. The angle that you took of this picture makes it really hard to look at, and the fact that the building is on the right side and moving toward the clouds on the left make it extremely awkward.

This is a really good shot. I like the building being on the side of the photo. It looks like a picture that should be in a magazine about architecture. Good job brinkerhoff.

Dude I've loved this picture since I saw it in its original form in class. I honestly don't think I have anything negative to say about it. I love the range of light on the building, and the cloud formations that make up the background. Very cool with the symmetry but still having the completely sideways perspective

Wow! I love your picture. The angel of your picture makes the building taller and the clouds are very white, which makes your picture greater. Good job!

The thing I like best about this piece is the sky. some shots taken like this are alright except for the fact there is nothing interesting up in the sky to keep your eye on the piece. However, it's my opinion though that a horizontal alignment would be better.

This picture is so cool. It takes to opposite elements (the natural sky, and a human made structure) and they come together to make an awesome photo. The sky is so blue the only thing I can think to change would be to make the building stand out just as much as the sky.

This is a great shot because its unique, having the subject sideways to make people tilt their heads a bit. Also, theres great sky and the resolution throughout the building is superb. Good Job.

This is a really beautiful shot... And I don’t say that often. I love the clean lines of the building next to the random texture of the clouds. The lighting is just right, and your white balance isn’t too blue. Great job.

I am going to have to disagree with most other people and yourself, in my opinion I would have liked the picture a lot more if the building was at the bottom. But other than that I think that this is a great shot and I love the sky, the bright blue and the small gape in the clouds at around the top of the building make very interesting. Good title too.
