Rock on

Contributed by W Hopkins

Ok, so i found this really cool rock quarry thing right off of shades crest road. This is a picture i took in that rock quarry. Three rocks had fallen together and had formed this small tunnel/cave, and because it was near sunset there was light coming in through the bottom and it made it look really cool.

I like the idea of this shot, and the rock formation itself is pretty cool. But I really wish it had some frame of reference, some kind of background, so that the photo isn't some continuous foreground with a hole in it.

I personally like this shot it seems like there is a fire inside because of the lighting inside. Its a really nice shot. I wonder where you took it.

the thing I dont like about this piece is that the foreground kinda blends together and isnt that interesting to look at. I tried to take some nature shots behind my house once and I didnt get much better results with some of them. To make it better maybe you could make some levels adjustment layers and do the leaves one layer and the rocks another. but what this piece needs is more contrast in the foreground.

I agree with mattox but not mitchell, he says in the description of where he took it. pay attention. This picture does kind of blend the foreground with the background.
