Orange Sunset

Contributed by C Kent

This picture was taken this year during summer break, when I was down at the beach. I actually take pride in the fact that this picture was not at all modified. When attempting a curves adjustment, it was nearly perfect- you could barely see a line change at all through the histogram, so I decided to leave it “all natural.” I also tried straightening it with the grid function, but again, it was too close to perfect, so why bother!

This is a pretty nice shot for not having anything done to it. You might wanna see if there's pure white in the sun, it's pretty bright. I like the depth of field and how there are docks that stretch across parts of the pic. Good shot!

This isn't quite perfect.

IT'S CROOKED.

I like almost everything in the shot. But the horizon line really really bugs me. If you are taking a shot like this one of the most important things about it is if the horizon line is straight. You really should just go ahead and straighten it with the grid function. the sun is also a bit bright but actually think everything else is good.

Very pretty, amazing that you didn't use photoshop or anything (:

Ok so Ill give you credit for getting the exposure correct in the camera but for me the slanting horizon really needs to be corrected. Just crop it again and rotate a bit cw) While it does look good it could really sing with some slight adjustments, I would saturate the color a bit and bring out a bit more white in the clouds. Good timing on the shot but I bet with a tripod the light right after the sun went down was spectacular for about five minutes. That time of day yields great photos but the light is low so you need a tripod.
