The Natural Path

Contributed by A McComb

I took this photo this past spring. I went with a couple of friends on a wild and crazy adventure to Selma, AL - we were looking for ruins that quite possibly don't exist. But nevertheless, I got some good photos out of the trip. This picture was taken in a cemetery of my good pal. I've always liked it a lot. I didn't make many changes other than a crop and a slight hue/saturation adjustment.

This is gorgeous. The person in the frame is essential but they do not look like you posed them there. It all looks natural..lighting, color etc and it leads to a nice lazy feeling in the viewer. Well done!
I do wish your image was submitted slightly bigger as the enlarged version is a bit small to judge the detail. Looking forward to printing this large on some nice mat paper.

I love this photo. I think the colors are great. I love the angle of the photo. The sharpness is great as well. I like the draw to the boy in the photo. The sharpness is great as well.

I really love this picture! I like how the composition of the shot causes the eye to follow down the trail. The person in the background is nice addition to the shot as well. The photograph really captures the beauty of nature. Excellent job with the lighting and photo all around!

i love this photo Amy! i really like how the trees fill the entire sides of the scene. It looks very storybook. your subject is perfectly placed to where they appear important but it still candid. the shadows are awesome and the colors pop. great job!

I really like the tones of this photo. They all seem to merge, but in a positive way. I especially like how the lighting is brighter father down towards the boy. Great way to use leading lines. I can tell you put a lot of time and effort in this. Good work.

This picture looks great. It looks like you were trying to frame the object and you did a great job with it. I enjoy how the trees how they are and how they are not just simple boring leaf trees only but a mixture of the two. This picture also has a great use of shadows. It makes it look sort of gloomy and a sad picture but depicts it very well. Great job with it. I really like it.

I think this is a great photo. I like how the subject is framed by the trees very naturally. Great angle, exposure, and focus. Really good.

I like the how the photo leads you down this pathway. The person in the photo also adds an extra something. Also somehow spiritual since it is in a cemetery. I like how the branches and the leaves add a variety of angles besides the trees going vertical. Very good picture. Joanna Stumpf-Rogers High School

I Like How the Moss on the trees are hanging it gives the picture a beautiful feel. I can tell the guy walking away from the camera is the main focus. To me it also looks like rule of thirds, just for where he is standing. The sun is light and you don’t have to use flash or even change white balance.
