The Process

Contributed by A O'Neil

I took this for the circles assignment. I like all of the different colors in it, so I saturated it a little bit to make these strong. Then I cropped it tightly.

I really like this photo. Mainly because of the variety of colors. This has very good focus on the eyeshadows, however, there is not that much focus on the mirrors. I actually like how the mirrors blur a little towards the upper right corner. Very good picture quality overall!

I LOVE the colors in this picture and the creativity behind this shot. Who would ever think of make-up of a circles assignment?! BRILLIANT!

The lines and shapes in this picture are captivating and the use of Depth of Field is excellent. Only part of the make-up is in focus and the rest is somewhat blurred but you can still tell what it is.

The colors are all very earthy they “pop” in this shot. Great job.

I like the close cropping of this photo. I like the focus on the middle colors and how the back ones are out of focus. I like how it fills the frame and the different colors. The circles make it interesting to look at. This makes me think of getting ready for a big event like a dance with all of the different colors of eye shadow. Good job!

I like this picture, It has a neat depth of field, and it is close to the subject. I like how it was taken so close that you could see the grainy, dusty texture of the eye shadow, and the lines still going through some of the different colors.

The love for make-up! I love the variety of fall colors in this picture. The depths of field were a good technical feature. You used good filling the frames for elements of composition. Definitely get an artistic mood from this picture.

Allie, I really like this photo. It has slightly low lighting, but I think it makes the photo seem more realistic. I love the title of it too: "The Process"...it is so true. Everyday we wake up and have to put this crap on. I really like the angle of the shot because you didn't just get the makeup pallet, but you also included the case cover. I love how it looks slightly dusted with the makeup, as if it had been used. I also like how the top right corner of the photo is blurred to make the rest of it stand out (also the lower right hand corner). It really makes the makeup POP! HH

This is a really fun and creative shot! I love all the colors and how the shades on the outer edges are a little out of focus compared to the ones in the center that are in a very sharp focus! Its really cool how the clear circles on the start from a very sharp focus to a blurry yet the make up by the out of focus circles remain in a pretty clear focus! If that kind of makes sense! Anyways this is a really amazing shot and I love it!

I really like the depth of field used in this picture. You did a great job of showing a variety of colors. I would’ve liked to see the colors pop more; to me they seem a bit dull. I do like the shot though, you did a good job of getting nice an close for an ideal shot.
