And Darling

Contributed by L Newport

I took this picture of my lovely friend, taylor, over the summer. I cropped the image, converted it to black and white, added a color overlay set on vivid light, and then adjusted the levels.

I love how you centered the subject in this picture. You did a great job of making the picture interesting. I think you could have maybe lowered the contrast, so the legs and arms didn’t blend in with the background. Overall, nice shot :)

This picture is absolutely stunning. The sepia tint, the dark contrast, and bright lighting are amazing. Central subject matter is good elements of composition used in this photo. From this photo, the type of mood I get is just a simple conversation going on between two people. Very beautiful picture!

Good picture. I like the color and sharpness. Also it has a good mood, she looks bored or clueless.I like how the bush is leading to the subject and her arm is leading to her face to make notice of it TS. Sphs

Great job with this photo, personally, I love photos of people, but the adjustments you used really make this photo stand out. The sharp focus of this photo also makes it stand out. I like the strong lights and darks throughout it too, but the sepia-like color really draws my eye to the photo, great work!

This picture caught my attention when i looked at it! I like how the color of the frame makes the subject stand out. The subject is in a good focus as well. Another thing i liked was the mood of the picture. The body language also caught my attention it seems as Taylor does not have a care in the world, but at the same time wonders so many things. I really like this photo makes me see several things happening though its simple. GREAT JOB! :O MC SPHS

I LOVE the atmosphere that is presented in this photo. I get this overwhelming sense of serenity when viewing this photo. I cannot imagine this photo without a sepia filter, as well. I see one problem with this photo, however. The highlights on her left arm and leg are blown out. If you could bring the exposure down just a bit, it would dramatically improve this already great photo.

I don’t really like this picture too much, I like how it was edited, but not the picture itself. I wish the girl would have been off to the side or something because of how it’s set up it looks like she’s splitting the background in two, but only in a confusing way, not a cool way.

This is one of the best photos that I've seen on the blog, even though I typically prefer vivid colors. The DOF looks perfect: the trees in the background have enough focus to retain most of their detail, but not enough to be distracting. There is just the right amount of focus on Taylor as well; I was interested in how visible the lines in her hair are. The composition is very good, too; if I HAD to say something against it, I'd suggest that there's a little too much sky. The only issue I have is with the lighting. Some areas, such as her legs, are almost whited-out. In contrast, the shadows are too dark around her eyes (or where her eyes should be). Nonetheless, all of this comes together well, so I can't really complain. Good job
