We Miss Neil

Contributed by L Townson

I took this photo downtown with my friends Neil and Maggie. I really like the lighting on this photo and I think I took it at the perfect time. It was on a moving elevator and I think this is why some of the objects in the reflection look as though there is motion blur. I didn't use any effects to make the color that way it just turned out really warm. I also like how some of the lights in the reflection resemble the effect of "light graffiti" when Neil is in focus and still.

I absolutely love this photo! I think the focus, exposure, balance, and everything are just perfect. The reflections and shadows give an interesting look that just pull me in. Fantastic job!

I really like this photo. I like the warm colors and how it seems somewhat mysterious. Also, I think it's really different how it's a reflection, but because of the angle, it doesn't look like one. I also like the position of the guy. Great job :)

I like this photo because you can see his reflection and how you can see the car light reflections as well. I think you maybe should’ve angled it a little differently so you could actually see what he was doing.

I actually really like this picture. It kind of shows that today’s youth are way too involved with their technology, what with the subject on an elevator and not paying any attention to the photographer because he’s texting. I like the colors and the reflection also.

I really like this photo. I like the motion blur but how Neil is focused at the same time. I like how he is not looking at the camera and is off to the side. It looks natural. The only thing i would suggest is the photo is a bit to yellow/orange. That is just my opinion because I hate orange tones. The reflections are great and it is a great photo!

This is a really cool photo. I like how he is focused while everything else is kind of blurry. I also love all the warm colors and the overall atmosphere of the photo.

I really like the symmetrical aspect of this image. The colours also stand out well, and I like the way the lights move as well. The focus is also well placed.

The rule of thirds is used quite well in this photo. I really like the reflection of the subject and how the lights are softly blurred. Great job, this photo is excellent! =]

I like this photo a lot. It is very artistic. I like the red and copper colors.

I like this picture. The background effect to me is awesome. It looks like he’s standing inside but there is a highway of cars speeding right behind him, with the streaks of light.

This picture is amazing. I love the reflection of Neil in the elevator. The reflected lights gives the picture the allusion of city life, so it's really cool to find out that the picture was actually taken downtown. The warm gold and orange color makes Neil's dark hair and red jacket stand out. Over all this picture is great...good job!!

I'm really liking this photo. I like how the subject is off to the side as if it were meant for the picture. The reflection of the person also makes the shot really pop. The photo looks almost futuristic because of the nature and how Neil is reflected in the moving elevator. I do like the orange tones because it adds to the picture's story. I like how th entire frame is filled and there is no uninteresting space to look at. Great job on really making this pic pop!

Your picture turned out pretty sick, i like the balance of the picture. The lighting and reflection looks a tight. He also looks like he's in deep thought, or something.

I like this picture. I like how neil is completely in focus in both him and his reflection but there are still streaks n the elevator doors. The lighting is really nice aswell...The only thing i would have changed was have more of neil in the picture...

I love the colors here! His facial expression is nice too. I love the reflection and how they're both on the sides and not one in the middle. The horizontal lines on the elevator wall is nice because it can lead you to the reflection. Over all i think this was a really good picture. Neil is in focus and nothing is blurry except for the background outside.

This is a very interesting picture. As everyone has seemed to point out so far, the "motion blur" (If that's what it actually was) in this picture has definately done more help than harm, I like the warm feel of it and how well Neil's expression seems to go with that feel. The only thing I would have done is maybe taken the picture a bit more to the left, getting a bit more Neil and a bit less streets/buildings, although I don't really know if that was an option. Good photo.

This is a great photo. The lights and the colors make this photo so good. The reflection gives me the feeling that he's letting the world pass him by and he doesn't know what is going on.

I like this image. I think that neil should had been showed more in the picture. But, I do like how the reflection shows what he was doing. It helps neil stand out from the picture. This picture has a good example of rule of thirds. The lighting is perfect and gives a mysterious kind of mood. I do wonder what that is on his hand? But, overall the picture is very impressive and the background has a highway kind of look. This picture is very good. GREAT JOB! CM SPHS
