I went on a picture trip with a friend around the Helena and Alabaster area. It was a really great place to take pictures - this plant, old buildings, and a railroad track. I liked this picture of the entire plant the best. We walked up pretty close and got some shots of the rusty train cars and the warehouses. I made a pretty serious levels adjustment and that's it. Some of the white areas in the smoke and on the roof are blown out, but it was hard to avoid being so sunny outside.

This picture is unique in some sort of way, but is hard to describe. The lines on the warehouse make you focus in on some of the detail of it. Also the type of clouds add to the flat and simple but elegant look. The sharpness of the warehouse makes it look like it is so much farther away from the sky, I mean it is but in some pictures the sky blends with the subject. Again good job with the picture.
I really like this photo, especially because you can pick out every single detail from the shot. I love how sharp and crisp the image is and how well the colors pop. I think that the angle you took this from was great because it is simple, but at the same time, it is very unique in itself. The color scheme is great and it makes me feel very the importance of the place. I really enjoy this. HH
This shot's pretty good, I don't mind at all about the blown-out parts. I like how the factory is on a rough rule-of-thirds line, it looks pretty pleasing to the eye. I'm not gonna lie - there's nothing amazing about this shot; but it's nice, just not mind blowing.
I like the simplicity of this image. The contrast between the factory and its surroundings is nice- it almost seems as if the factory is a drawing or painting placed against a realistic background. I think your levels adjustment was a good idea, the factory definitely pops despite the fact it's white. The composition and angle are simple yet perfect for this shot. There is plenty of interest within the subject to pull my eye in and allow it to wander around. Very nice.
I like this picture because its it just a pure color shot. there is nothing extravagant, but it is eye catching.
i love the colors, good shot!
I've seen this place a ton of times and its really cool to see a picture of it on here. The thing I like the most about this image is the sky. The Sky has some very nice colors too it as it fades from a light blue to a darker blue. I also love the clouds, I think its cool that the clouds are like streaks across the sky because you don't always see clouds like that. Another thing about the clouds (sort of) is that most of the time clouds are big and puffy yet the only puffy cloud type thing in the shot is the smoke. I find it awesome that the smoke looks like a cloud, especially at the end of the puff. Enough on the sky, the factory itself is cool because there is so many small details that it moves my eye around nicely. Overall this is a nice picture with some awesome detail.

This is such a great shot. At first glance, this almost looks like the cover on a postcard or something, like "Greetings from Helena"...I like the entire scene with the building appearing as if it was placed on top of the crystal blue sky. I also don't see a lot of full buildings in photographs so great choice! The smoke rising from the top shows action but with a unique twist because it looks as though they are transitioning into clouds so great job on that. Overall this is quite a joyous picture with clarity and a full frame, great job!

I really like this picture. I like how sharp the building looks. The colors really stand out. The clouds look really good with the lines it adds. I like the detail of the picture. Its really clear. I would have liked it if you would have shown more of the grass and less of the sky, but you did a good job. Its a great photo.

I love the color scheme of this picture! The bright blue stands out against the white building and how it compliments the color of the grass. I love how the steam looks as well! Its almost looks fake in a way! Overall, this picture really gives of a rustic feel and you did a great job! (:
I think this is a really neat shot. I love how bright out it is. I like how you were able to capture the entire plant in the photo. The telephone poles in the front are a little distracting, but seeing as that’s not something you could move I don’t think it’s a very big deal. I really like the blues in the sky and the contrast between it and the smoke. It looks very cool. Nice work :)
This picture caught my eye while I was scrolling. I love the lines in this picture, like how the heights of the different parts of the plant span across the photo. I like how the clouds contrast in direction and shape to that of the smoke coming out of the stack. I think the “blown out” white makes the photo that much cooler. I love how blue the sky is and the green of the grass. It’s very peaceful.
This is such a cool shot, congrats!
This is a really cool photo. There are some overexposed areas but I really think it adds to it. I think that the blueness of the sky really compliments how plain all the other colors look. It’s a really nice contrast.
I really like this shot. I used to live in Helena a couple years ago and I used to drive by this all the time. What really stands out to me is the white smoke against the bright blue sky. I have to agree with Bryan that some parts of the image are blown out, but it's not too bad. Great job with this one!
This is an absolutely stunning photograph. As I was looking at the blog it instantly caught my eye. The colors are vibrant and alluring, and it makes for a beautiful landscape photograph. I feel it is effective how the ground and building are artfully arranged in the lower half of the frame, leaving only sky and some smoke in the top half. This truly is a masterful photo!
This is a really cool shot. The contrast between the white plant, green grass and bright blue sky looks great. My personally favorite object of this image is the smoke billowing out of the smoke stack. The only problem with this shot is it is a little bit out of focus. TC-SPHS
I think this picture is excellent. Everything in the picture is so crisp and shows a lot of detail. Also the clouds in the background give some interest to the sky yet does not completely over power the other objects in the image. JRieves
This is a really nice photo. I like the contrast of the white buildings and cloud of smoke on the blue sky. The streaking clouds add a pretty cool effect as well. I also like the detail in this shot. - dn
I like the colors in this image and how the white smoke contrasts the blue sky behind it. I also like the way the white buildings draw your eye in and see the details of the old plant. I think the parts of the smoke that are blown out are ok and make the picture look better. Its a good picture.

I really love this picture. The colors in this shot are almost perfect. I love how well the white building and the smoke draw my attention. you chose a great day to do this shot too. I also agree with Bryan about the rule-of-thirds you used. Overall, I think this is a pretty good shot. -TW SPHS-
Great shot Amy! It is well balanced and really moves the viewers eye around. Good use of the rule of thirds...I love how the grass is dead and uninviting but then the sky looks to clear and beautiful. Love it : )
I really like this photo...I can always tell before i look at the name that it is one of your pictures because you always have something very eye-catching and delicious. I like how the smoke moves my eyes around the photo and the very rustic feel to the picture as a whole. One thing that would be nice to see is more of the buildings on the left side but it's still very good!
