Ice Sheet

Contributed by T Ricchetti

I took this picture out side my house when it got really cold one morning. I saw that the ice was a sheet of the ice. I like how this picture turned out but there is some minor flaws in this I know. Yet I do not know what they are....

I really like this photo! I think this is my favorite winter photo! I think it was a perfect opportunity of a great shot, and you took it and made it work perfectly! Great Job!

I like this photo as well. The blues work nicely in portraying a cold, icey mood which works with the subject. The lines the icicles create, along with the branches from the tree, move the eye throughout the composition and add a dynamic quality to the image. I like the harsh jaggedness of the icicles because it's nice contrast to the fluffy, powdery, ideal of winter. My criticism is not so much of the picture but of your comment..be careful in checking your grammar because in order for your artwork to be well received, it must be well presented. Also, don't state that your piece has flaws if you don't know what they are! Be proud of your work and open to criticism.

I really like this photo. I remember when these formed in my neighborhood and thought it would make for an awesome picture. It reminds me of like an ice palace in a way which is nice I like the white and blue color scheme. I would like the angle to be a little better and show more on the left of the ice sickle but it's still pretty nice.

What a subject for a photo! I’ve never seen icicles like this before, and you photographed them very well. Nice job keeping the colors uniform; there’s noting in here that isn’t blue or white to distract the eye.
I only have a few minor suggestions. This picture looks a little flat; it might be more interesting if you took it at more of an angle.
Also, the lighting in the background is a bit inconsistent. It would have been better if the whole background looked the same, especially if it was all dark so that the icicles would stand out more. These are only minor things, though. Overall, this is a very good photo.

I really like this photo. I love how the ice is cascading down the picture. It is a prime example of the beautiful shapes and images that nature can give us. It is quite interesting to look at.

This is a really cool picture. The lines of the icicles really move your eyes throughout the image. Also, the trees make nice lines. The ice and the blue colors portray a wintery, cold mood. My only suggestions are to get a better view of the icicle, and maybe put the rule of thirds to use here. TC-SPHS

I can not see any flaws. The picture is stunning and I love how you have multiple tree branches in the picture, its ads more depth of field. I have never seen ice cycles this long before. The whole tree looks like it has a frozen layer over it. This is by far my favorite picture I have seen on here yet. Great job!

This is such an interesting Photo. The icicles look so big and sharp, like big shiny teeth! The blue everywhere really adds to the mood of the picture. I feel really cold when I see this; it’s really unique and beautiful. I wish I saw this in real life though, I bet it would be breathtaking. VD-ERHS

This photo is incredible! I love the use of line in this photo; with the branches and the ice. I've never ever seen icicles form like this, expecially on a tree. Also, the blue really creates the winter wonderland mood. Awesome job!
