Clean Street

Contributed by A Glass

I live in Alabama which even in winter is incredibly hot. It got as high as 70 degrees this past December. Well a few weeks ago, I was lying in bed asleep when all of a sudden my phone rings. I was quite perturbed at being awoken at seven o'clock on a sunday morning, but I answered the phone any how. My friend excitedly told me that it is snowing outside and that i should go take some pictures. So i reluctantly got out of bed and grabbed my camera. I converted the image to black and white then added a high contrast curves layer. Hope you enjoy it.

I really like this picture! Its is very aesthetically pleasing, the fact that the road is directly in the canter really appeals to me. I also like the trees on either side and the contrast is perfect. The snow really stands out from the darker areas and, overall, this shot is great.

This photo is really really good. The black and white filter really makes this image stand out more so than if it had been colored. I think the leading lines in this image are the biggest component of art utilized. The wet road and the yellow lines in the middle of it led my eye straight through the photo. I also like the atmosphere of the image as a whole. It all seems kind of cold and grim. Overall, good job. I wouldn't change a thing about it. -BS SPHS

This is probably the best photo I have seen of the snow. I love how you captured the snow and the sharp turn up the hill. I would have never thought to take a picture here. Keep up the good work Yoda. SPHS JK

I like this picture a lot, especially since it is in black and white. The contrast in the photo turned out very good. I also like how the road brings your eye into the picture, and how the road curves at the end. dn sphs

I love snow pictures. I really am impressed with this picture. Black and white filter really adds quality to this picture. Having the road in was a good focus object. I like how it leads your eye down the picture giving the picture depth of field. I think that the feeling the image is giving off is really well. JR SPHS

The this photo was taken was pretty cool, it's not often that it snows here. The perspective from which this photograph was taken lends itself well to creating leading lines. Snowy black and white look to the picture also adds to creating the good composition of the photo. Overall a well taken photograph.

i Love this image! just the way everything looks with the trees, and the snow and the road. I like the way the two yellow lines look on the road and the moisture thats collected on it gives it a really cool look. The black and white was a great choice, and i wouldn't change a single thing about this photo, great work!

This is a beautiful photograph, Andrew. It is simply stated yet powerful. Black and white was the best choice and adds to the overall mood of the image. Roads work nicely as subjects in leading the eye through the composition, and the composition in and of itself feels very balanced and symmetrical, for the most part. The angle the photograph was taken at also works well in allowing the viewer to feel that he is standing on the road himself. This is certainly a photograph I would be attracted to and tempted to buy, so good work.

This picture looks like it could be on the front of a novel. It’s calming and subtle. Snow is such a great subject to work with. I like how you used the road to lead the eye through the photo. Your angle (standing in the middle of the road to get the shot) is perfect. The road is what catches the eye but the bare trees also lead the eye up the sides of the picture and into the sky. I like how there is sort of a road in the sky too where the trees somewhat break. Very unique shot.

This picture is really great it looks very good with the black and white filter. the road lead the eye to the photo, the road is very attracting it looks wet and clean. The ice clean white snow also gives the image more glory and glamour. i also like how the trees have the ice on them. As Kayla S said this photo could be is the first page of a novel because it's really good and awesome. Very unique, awesome shot. great job.

I love pictures of snow days. The line from the road keeps your eye moving. The contrast of the road/ trees/ sky looks great, and the lines of the trees also keep your eyes moving. The image is also symmetrical with a good composition. The black and white was a good choice. Good job TC-SPHS

I like how the road is the center of the photo but curves off to the left in the distance. The surrounding trees seem to frame the road and make it stand out as the main part of the photo. I like how you changed it to black and white because it gives it a cold feeling which works well with the winter. This reminds me of a first snow of a year where no one is outside and everything is calm. Nice job!

This is a very nice photo. The road cuts down the middle of the photo which makes balance, very nice. The black and white contrast adds to the overall mood. It is a very calm photo which puts many good thoughts in my head. Great job.

This is a really great shot! The whole atmosphere of the scenery is like from a movie or something. The angle that is was taken from also adds a lot to it. I like how gloomy the mood is compared to a winter wonderland type of thing. The black and white setting is really what makes this photo so unique to me. The depth of field makes it look as though it goes on for miles. I think this photo is really interesting to look at because it makes me think of a lot of different things. Anyways, you did a really good job on this picture.

this image has a pretty interesting subject, with the lake behind the trees and how well the white blends with the tree's.

this is nice. I love the moist looking road how the entire photo is this white and grey. I honestly can't tell if the photo is black and white or if its just the appearance of the photo with the snow. Either way it's very pretty.

The black and white of this shot really adds some interest, and I love the leading line of the road. This is such a cool winter shot and has a lot going for it. The composition is very impressive and the contrast is also appealing.

I really like this picture. The road is very interesting and leads your eye to the center of the picture. I only wish the sky would have been more interesting, which would have been impossible to get with the sky you had. Great picture though.

I like the lines in this photo. It gives an open felling and the curve right at the end of the road gives it almost a mysterious feel to it.
The photo has a very cold, strange and scary mood.

I like this picture because there are no cars on the road and it just looks like a deserted road in the middle of nowhere. The curved line towards the back of the picture is a good element of composition and it just draws your eyes along the road.

I really like how in this photo I feel like the road is leading me down it and around the corner. Good job with that. That road is also really neat like the title suggests.
