Possibly Pansies

Contributed by B Johnson

I took this shot in my yard a few weeks ago. I'm not overjoyed with it, but I think the colors are very nice and they compliment each other. I did a levels adjustment and I ramped up the saturation a little bit.

This is a gorgeous shot. I like that you got up super close to the flower and it’s in perfect focus. You can see the “veins” of purple going up the petal it’s so clear. The depth of flied here is also excellent. You got the main subject in focus and then got the green bush in the background to blur. The purple and the green contrast very well and this shot appears hidden and calm. Great work.

Well, this photo isn't bad. Like you said, I really like how the colors compliment each other. I also love the texture of the flower. It looks very velvety. However, the subject itself in general is kind of boring. I think maybe you should have shown the whole flower. But anyways, yeah; I love the colors but the subject itself is kind of dull.

The colors are really nice, but I'm confused about the subject. When I first looked at this, all I processed was a hunk of purple with a green back ground. I just think if this was shot from a different angle it would of been better. The depth of field is nice, though.

what i like about this picture is the little details you can see in the flower and how the background is blurry so all your focus is on the the details of the flower. i also like the different shades of colors on the flower.

I think the picture looks really cool because of how purple the flower looks. I like that both the flower and the back ground are both bright.

i like the colors taken in this picture it fully defines spring, i like how you took the picture up close to capture the details.you can see every thing so clearly, the veins and the tiny water droplets, i also like how you brought the flower into focus and blurred the green grassy background up

This image has a nice DOF, bringing together a good composition of colours as well. I like the textures of the leaf itself.

I really like these colors! I like the contrast of the greens and purples, and the intensity of them. I also like the detail present, which shows the veins of the flower. However, I wish that there was a larger range of focus, so that you could see the closest parts of the flower!

This photo is nice but it seems a bit uninteresting. I like the idea but i just feel that there is a way to make a photo like this more intersting, and when i look at this photo i honestly don't feel like its intersting at all. Its not that its bad at all, its just unintersting. I think a change of angle or depth might change.

The extreme close-up actually works really well in this photo. I love how you captured the beautiful texture of all the little veins in the petal. It's abstract and takes a minute to figure out what exactly you're looking at. Great photograph.
