SOHO Cycle

Contributed by G Lee

I took this in SOHO. I really liked this image. Its really simple but it still gives the viewer a little story to think about. I felt that the black and white complimented this photos the best. I did a few other adjustments and this is how it turned out.

I really like this photo. I think the black and white effect really makes this whole picture come together. I like how there is also a darker outer glow to the picture. It makes me feel like the bike is glowing and it draws my attention to it. Also, i love the angle of the shot and how it seems like the you are looking down, admiring the bike. Overall i think this is a pretty good photo!

This picture is just okay. I find it very boring, and a little cliche'. I think it was a good choice to go with the black and white though. I agree with the simple aspect of it, but I think it is too simple; maybe if there had been a biker or someone along with the bike I would like it more. It is very sharp though and that is nice.

I really like this photo. It's so simple, yet so detailed. I really like how it's in black and white, it definitely fits well with the subject. The feeling I get when I see this, is lonely, because of the bike being alone, but it's still great. I also think it's great that you can see every detail in the bike. The only things that are distracting to me, are the cars in the background, but without them, the photo would have a different feel. Great job! :)

I actually like this picture in black and white. The road (where it's in detail) has a lot of detail in it. As well as he tires seem to have worked well. I'm not so sure if I like the car passing in the background or not. Overall though I like this shot good job.

I really like this picture. I agree with you on how it is very simple, but interesting. That's what makes it cool. The composition is the only thing I would change. I think it would be better if the bike was on the right rule of thirds line instead of dead center. Great Job.

I like how you chose to make this photo black and white because it makes it more interesting and makes the bike stand out. I also like how the DOF makes the background a little out of focus. Even though the bike is in the center of the frame, the stuff around it can still be seen so it works. Nice job!

I think the idea to turn the photo black and white helped a lot. I feel there could be more done with the composition of the photo (remove the cars so it doesn't distract so much from your center subject). I think this photo could be really great with a little more work, it doesn't seem finished. I also think more detail could be pulled from the bike and the road, like to see more tread, writing on the bike, etc.

I like this picture a lot better in black and white than I would in color. The crop is pretty good, although I'd crop it more to the right, instead of having the bike right in the middle of the shot.

I think this photo had a good bit of potential, as you've found a nice subject and a good way to take it. However, I think you would have done better to have cropped out the cars, as they are distracting, as well as making it so the bike follows the rule of thirds. The lines on the bike would then be the only thing leading your eye around, and would keep them focused on the subject.

this bike looks really good. The contrast an focus is good. the sharpness is also done very well. The only thing that bothers me are the bottoms of the cars in the shot. I feel like it would be better if you cropped in tighter on the bike itself.

This picture is very simple it doesn't have to many things in it but i like maybe having nothing in the picture made it cool and attractive i also like how you made it in black and white because these colors make the picture more valuable and interresting. I like how you focused on the bike and how the background is out of focus. This picture is awesome ;)

This photograph has a very interesting aesthetic. The bicycle is an odd choice for a subject but I think it works. The black and white also looks good for this picture. The adjustments you did worked because it turned out very good and helps show off this bicycle.

I like the simplicity of this photo. Black and white was a wonderful choice as it forces the viewer to focus solely on the subject, not to be caught up with all the colors of the surroundings. The bike is in nice focus and the lighting seems right, the contrast might work a little more if it was stronger but I trust your artistic judgment. Part of me thinks the cars in the background are distracting and that the crop could have been more intimate. But another part of me likes that they're there, placed in the background and blurry, because it places more of an emphasis on the bike, almost a battle of technologies. In that sense, the image makes a nice, firm statement.

I really like this photo.I like how you cut the cars off in the background to focus in on the bike. I think the color looks good, but its darker on the right then the left. I think the cars should be a bit more blurred. Over all I think its a great picture, keep up the good work!

I really like this photo. I think it wouldn't have been as good if it were in color so the decision to make it black and white was very wise. I usually try to stick to the old rule of thirds in picture but this one is still very interesting without it. I would have like to see more background though but other than that it's a great shot. EID RULEZ!

I Like this picture because it was taken in black and white. The bike is right in the middle of the frame maybe you had moved and made it so the bike was more to one side then the other it would make the picture a little more interesting. Even though the bike is the main focus maybe there should have been more objects in the picture so the bike would really stand out.
