Fall Berries

Contributed by L Young

There is nothing too special about these berries, but the color and shape caught my eye. I did not even notice the branch throughout the middle, until after I took the picture. It's cool how your eyes are immediately attracted to the bright colors and not the basis of the photo.

I really like the vibrant colors in this picture. The bright red/orange of the plant contrasts great with the darker green in the back, really making it stand out. The stick through the middle does a great job of leading your eye. The shadows on the stick are pretty cool as well.

I'm staring at it trying to find something to tell you to improve on, but I don't see anything. I guess the only thing is it *might* look better if the blurry plant on the right wasn't there. I'd have to see it to say for sure though.

Overall, good pic.

I like how the berries do catch your eye first and how the other berry trees are faded out in the background. The branch is noticeable but not straight away. Also the shadow of the berries on other berries looks cool. AP SPHS

The colors in this picture are amazing. At first glance it's difficult to tell what it's a picture of because all you see is color, so you have to take a second, more in depth look to really see what your are looking at. That is a really cool effect. Also, I really like how the branch in front is in focus and crisp and the branches farther back are blurry and do not detract attention away fro the main subject, amazing technique. Very good job.

I agree with you. The colors are really bright and make me feel warm, if that makes any sense. All the colors in this photo compliment each other and look really good together. The lighting is good. Overall I like the photo.

Overall I really am impressed with this picture. I love the brightness of the red and orange. It really brings in the viewers eye. Also the tree branch really does move you up the picture leading you to different parts of the photo.

Very nice, and beautiful job.

This photo is a great representation of fall in my opinion. The colors nail the essence of autumn, which is full of deep and vibrant shades of warm earth colors. You did a pretty decent job with focusing the subject. It might have looked cooler if you were focused on just a single cluster of berries instead of a whole branch.

Very nice picture. I like the depth of field in this picture, how the closer berries are very distinct, but the distant ones are almost a double image. It's a very nice angle on the picture. It looks like leaves instead of berries if you just look at it really quickly. Good work.

This is an awesome picture. It really has a fall feel to it. The depth of field is excellent. the contrasting colors of the photo look great! The berry-shaped shadows on the branch and the shadow of the berries on the other berries also adds to the photo. Overall, very eye-catching, and great picture.

The vibrant colors are just amazing! I love the depth of field - the out of focus berries in the background really add to the picture IMO. When I was younger, we had a bunch of these berry bushes (except they were red) in our front yard and we would collect them during the fall and string them together at Christmas to hang on the tree, so the picture really attracted me because it reminded me of that.

I like the close depth of field in this picture. I like how the plant is in focus and the background isn’t. The bright colors of the plant make the photo bright and cheerful. Overall I think this is a good picture.

I like that the reddish/orange is so vibrant here, and you used the rule of thirds just a little so we can see the background. I also like that the background is blurry so we can only focus on the main branch. VD-ERHS

My eye was immediately drawn to this picture because of the beautiful colors of orange and green. I like how the branch and berries are the main focus and the background is blurred but you can tell there are more berries and trees. This is also a great example of filling the frame. It also sets the tone of fall by the warm colors shown. This picture reminds me of cool and gorgeous sunny weather which gives a happy vibe. Great Job!

I like how the focus is on the berries in the foreground but there are the same berries in the background. The shallow depth of field works well in this photo.

The colors of the berries really stand out and gives a fall/autumn feel. It makes me think of those Sundays when you just want to go outside when the weather is just right. Not too cold & not too hot. All of the colors compliment each other and nicely blend together. The whole picture has a nice depth of field.

I Like this picture because of all the bright reds, oranges and yellows. The background is out of focus which I think gives the picture more depth. The branch isn’t right in the middle of the frame but a little off the left which looks very good. There is just enough lighting to bring out the colors. This picture is a fall picture for sure.
