Freedom

Contributed by J Brinkerhoff

I took this photo over the summer when I was visiting a friend in Decatur. We were driving around in her 67' Austin Healey Sprite and I was playing with her Nikon D40. I really like how the picture captures the experience of freedom that we had that afternoon. We drove everywhere, with nowhere to go. This picture was more of a lucky shot and no edits were done on it.

I really love the way this photo like you said captures freedom. Her hair blowing in the wind and the sky and the lighting. It really all came together I think on this photo. I like how it didn't have any special effects done to it. It is just real and I really like that.

I really like the amount of joy this picture brings! I know that sounds lame, but the picture really DOES make me happy! You can clearly tell that y'all had a great day, and the way you can see her smile through her hair really emphasizes that! Great picture!

The reason why i picked this picture is because the girl looks so happy and that makes me happy, it looks like the girl is going somewhere far away to take a vacation and the picture makes me laugh a little.

The part I really like about this picture is the wind blowing in her face. Her hair going all over the place with a little smile gives the picture a natural look. What makes the picture even better is the weather. It seems like it's later in the afternoon around 4, it's the perfect weather. The old car also adds in the classy look.

This is a really cool picture! I really like the wind blowing in the girls hair, it adds a really nice touch to the picture. I like how in the picture the car is old instead of new. Its a really cool picture!

This picture is really natural. Her hair is flowing, and she has a nonchalant smile on her face. She looks content. I like the lighting on her face as well. There is a definite sense of freedom spreading in this shot. KBM-SPHS

I love this picture because it looks vintage. It reminds me of myself because i love driving around in my car listening to music because of how free i feel. That's why the title of "freedom" is appropriate. I like how the back of the girl's head is dark, and the front is lighter. Also, you can see her smiling so it makes the viewer happy, and makes me wish i was there! I love the sky and the coloring around the windshield. It looks like it should be in a music video. Great picture!

I really like that the motion has stopped in this picture, yet you can still tell that the wind is blowing on the girls face. It is a bit dark where the car is. Perhaps you could have adjusted the lighting a little in Photoshop. Ether way, this is a cool shot and it can be hard using shutter speed this way. VD-ERHS

I love this photograph. It just gives off the mood of summer fun. I think it’s great that you can see her driving, and really where she’s going. The wind in her hair just adds to the mood of the picture. The natural light is awesome in this picture too. Great Job.
