Bamboo

Contributed by J Bryan

Another picture I took at the Gardens a few months ago. Didn't edit except for bringing up the contrast a little bit.

I like this photo alot because of the depth. There is alot of contrast within the photo that also makes it interesting. The different shapes, sizes, and colors also contribute to make this photo great. My favorite part is how the bamboo takes up much of the picture but not entirely (3/4 of the right side. Great Job!

I like the contrast the bamboo to the right of the photo and the trees in the background to the left of the photo. I also like how the split with the trees and bamboo is not in the center of the photo.

I like this picture. I like that the bamboo isn’t covering the whole frame, but is still the main subject in the photo.

I like all the different variations of green in this photo. I also like how the redish dirt gives the photo a warm feeling. The depth of field also works to draw the viewer’s eye through the photo. However, there is no main focal point. Perhaps if you had gotten up close to the bamboo and made this a macro shot the composition could have been more interesting. I also wish I could see the top of the bamboo. I like how the sun shining on the bamboo contrasts the shadow in the back.

I like this photo because all the greens and the browns are all different tones and when they are all mixed up in the bamboo shoots it has a really cool effect to it.
The element of compostion that was used was leading line. The bamboo shoots takes your eye to the upper part of the picture and then the brown path leads your eye towards the back of the photo.
The mood of the picture is somewhat mysterious and has sort that creepy element to it by not knowing what is going on just down that brown path or behind the bamboo.
