Reflect

Contributed By S Baker

I took my sister to Veteran's Park and took lots of pictures of her and a few pictures of random things around the park, like this. I really loved how this one turned out, so decided to submit it. As far as editing goes, I only did a small curves adjustment.

I love the reflection of the duck in the water! I also like the contrast between the dark and the lights in your picture, it's very lovely. The ripples in the water make such interesting lines, too.

I really love how the oranges in the lake are rippled and distorted, and the duck being placed just below the center of the picture adds a little more balance to the picture. I wish there were more details in the top half instead of it being solid black, but it works as a contrast to the light shades of the bottom half. JB SPHS

This picture is very interesting. It has good contrast and attracts your eye very well. I like the reflection on the water and how the duck seems to fit so well.

This is a really impressive photograph - I was surprised to see that you only edited it a little! The reflection in the water is fantastic and the exposure is perfect. Nice job catching a good subject at the right time and taking a great picture of it - Ross SPHS

I love how the goose seems to appear as perfectly symmetrical. The slight movement of the water does not even matter because then it makes the reflected duck unrealistic. Also, I like the affect that the upper section of the frame is pitch-black and as it goes to the bottom of the frame, it gets much lighter. Even though the picture is dark, you can still see the details of the duck and it adds an even greater affect, well done!

This photo is amazing. I love the contrast between the water and the bird, and the depth of field is very nicely done. Normally, I would see some fault in the bird not being in one of the rule of thirds spots, but in this picture it works well that the bird is in the center. Overall this is an excellent picture, and very well captured.

love this! the color of the water is beautiful. maybe you could lighten up the exposure a little to make the duck stand out more? the reflection is great too!

I really love the lighting and that the goose is seen as a silhouette. I don’t like how the goose is in the middle of the photo; I would like to see it horizontal as well to compare it to see which way I like it best. The photo reminds me of yin/yang and a goose is like a mix of yin/yang.

I like how detailed the ripples in the water are. Also the reflection of the duck really makes this picture along with the different colors in the water. I actually like the dark exposure of this picture. This is an overall really good picture.

I love the reflections in the water. This picture is so serene. I really like the colors. Its like not black and white, but there isn't a lot of color. I also like how the goose is in the center and the main vocal point.

I really like the transition from the reflection of the sky to the dark area above it. The camera did a great job in catching the reflection and the distinct ripples as well. The only suggestion I would make would be to increase the lighting of just the goose to help draw attention to it without brightening the rest of the picture. Still, I really like the way this photo turned out! - AF SPHS

I love the simplicity of this photo. I like how the water vanishes into black and the duck is the only thing that holds shape. it has an interesting color to it as well.
