I got this in the Summer of 2004 at the indoor pool of a Days Inn. It was in the evening and the sun was shining through the window. There was a support grid that cast some amazing shadows and the water distorted it in some fantastic ways. The way that the shadows rippled was amazing. I took as many pictures as I could with my mom's cannon camera. This one is probably my favorite because of the way the lines seem to dance. It leads you in and throughout the photo. It's hard to tell that it is a reflection at all.

Overall, I think this is a great picture! I really like the diagonal lines in the picture, they make it much more dynamic than if they had just been horizontal or vertical. I also very much like the varying points of contrast based on where the light hit the water. The dark shadows of the support grid offer some diagonal lines opposing the ones in the water, and this also makes the picture more dynamic.
It is a great pic, and has strenghts in many different areas
You did a nice job of composition - capturing all the motion, the light and the dark on the pool's surface. It is hard to believe that so much visual excitement can come from the surface of a motel swimming pool!
Good work.
