Pay Your Parking Meters

Contributed by K Thagard

I took this photo downtown. I did a curves/levels adjustment. I also put a blue color overlay filter on it. I think it is a decent photo.

I think this an excellent photo to portray the focus on one object. The parking meter really stands out against the slightly blurred background. Immediately upon seeing this picture I noticed the letters really popped out to the viewer. Setting the object in the middle of the frame allows for the viewer's eye to move around the entire photo. I think the position of the photo is great because the contrast between the background building and tree let the parking meter "pop". I also like the reflection in the building's window. It really adds more to the photo without taking too much away. Great job!

This is a very nice photograph. The main object (parking meter) is in good focus and the scene behind it is nicely blurred. Also the curves are nicely done, and the blue overlay really helps too. Great job on the picture.

I really like the simplicity of this photo. I like how you incorporated rules of thirds and also how the image was taken from a diagonal perspective. The picture is outstanding especially with the blurred background.

This is a very interesting photo, and its pretty good. The focus and placement of the parking meter make the picture. The colors are also very nice. I love the blue. However, I think the lighting is poor and weakens the picture. The bold white are and red newspaper stand distracts the eye away from the object. I like how much depth this picture has, and the reflection on the windows. This is a very creative photo.

I like the aesthetics of the picture, also the way the number 4 is peeling. I like how the subject is in focus while the back ground is a bit soft.
Overall I really like this image.

Hey Kathryn, I like this picture. It is very clear, and the colors are very nice. The window and the tree lead my eye around the photo, and the parking meter is also interesting to look at. Good job!
